Life Aquiver
Living life one 'tremble' at a time.

Living in today's modern world, it is sometimes much too easy for us to fall into the trappings of a routine and the simple comforts we grew accustomed to. The title of this blog harks to the dream of living life in a constant state of trembling. It's the tremble of excitement, of fear and frustration, of wanderlust unbounded and the many more feelings that make life truly worth living.

My ideas and aims are simple. This blog will be a form of digital diary in which I could jot down a lot of my musings and ruminations regarding travels, culture, art and food. By contextualizing each post with stories, tips and fun history facts, I hope to inspire you to create your own journey to celebrate the things that matter the most to you in life.

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
— Saint Augustine

A little about me, I am a Chinese Indonesian, currently living and working in New York City but originally based in London. I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia but have had the privilege to live abroad since I was 16. Starting with my 4 years in Singapore to undertake my Secondary and Junior College studies, before moving on to Nottingham, United Kingdom for my Law School and finally London and New York City for work. Throughout those years of living abroad and fending for myself, I found that nothing excites me more than the thoughts of travel, good food and discovering various forms of art and new cultures.

As a twenty-something solicitor, I find that my way of traveling is different than most travel bloggers I have come across. I love my job and the feeling of having a home to go back to, but I also have a strong case of the travel bug ever since I traveled around Europe before my graduation in 2014. With only about 25 days of annual leave a year (in addition to public holidays and weekends), time is sometimes a luxury that I do not have a lot of when traveling.  The goal is to not just see all the tourist sights, but also to understand them in their social and cultural context and to be able to experience and get a feel of the places through a local's perspective.  Most of all, I believe that traveling is not just about seeing and experiencing, but also understanding, as only then will you come out all the richer after your travels.
